multiple Instances, both has their strength and weaknesses. Since some tools only works correctly with MO2 in Portable mode, if you want multiple instances you should create a completely new MO2-installation and select "Portable" then starting MO2 for the first time.Īs for using multiple Profiles vs. > So, can I create another instance and if so is it a completely new installation of mod organizer 2 or just a new instance of the game? I want to start fresh and really figure out what I'm doing this time, but don't want to lose what I have that works. Honestly, I wabbajacked most of my current setup and then played around until I had something I really liked and was (mostly) stable. Part of the reason I want to do this is because I want to learn more about modding in general (and maybe even learn how to create them). So, can I create another instance and if so is it a completely new installation of mod organizer 2 or just a new instance of the game? I just added a second 1 TB SSD to my PC and I know that I can create a new profile in Mod Organizer 2, but based on other information I've read/watched, that wouldn't really work if I don't necessarily want all the same plugins merged, or have different (updated) versions of mods.

I am using a lot of my 500 GB SSD on this game and I love the setup and character, but it is heavily patched and merged and everything and I'm scared to mess it up just because I constantly get the urge to play around with new mods. Question: I've been playing a heavily modded game for awhile now (620 mods and 255 esp/esm) and while I don't want to stop or lose this character as I have A LOT of playtime invested, I do want to sort of start from scratch with a second modlist.
